Weighers

Six possible product feed system types ensures a complete and precise solution for different product characteristics. A single scale may also be equipment with multiple product dosing systems, of the same or different type. Product is delivered in the exact quantity, and weighed with the utmost accuracy, according to the parameters of the programmed recipe in electronic weigh controller. The available product feed system types are: GTE (gravity); TTE (impeller); CTE (screw feeder); CCTE (double screw feeder); NTE (belt feeder); VTE (vibratory channel).

TECHNIPES’ electronic weigh scales have definitively replaced the older electro-pneumatic weigh scales, which have become outdated and no longer meet customers’ needs. Scales generally consist of:

    1. A rigid steel support structure, seam welded and featuring a quick opening access door facilitating easy inspection, and also equipped with fabric side panels to maintain neutral pressures inside the scale crucial for good accuracy

    1. Weigh bucket for receiving the metered product and manufactured form to prevent the product from sticking to its sides, with a volume consistent with the weight to be obtained for the given product density, pneumatically actuated opening and closing of the weigh bucket doors monitored by magnetic sensors contributing to an reliable and repeatable weigh cycle.

    1. Two HBM (HOTTINGER) type load cells model Z6FC3 in class C3 (3000 divisions), approved and certified in compliance with the OIML/R61 international provisions, and manufactured in stainless steel with IP67 protection, and from which the weigh bucket is suspended.

    1. Product feed system, one of six types available depending on the product characterisitics to be metered by the scale, all featuring two weighing stages: BULK FEED (intial high-speed product delivery) and DRIBBLE FEED (final slow, very accurate metering) and penumatic shut off gate for immediate product flow arrest

  1. An electronic weigh control module that dynamically monitors and manages all the operations and functions of the scale.

Main aspect

Quick extraction system of the screw feeder for easy cleaning without disassembling the drive.

Screw feeder U-shaped housing equipped with quick opening top inspection door.

Quick opening inspection door providing access to weigh bucket also equipped with quick opening inspection door allowing thorough inspection and complete cleaning of inner product contact surfaces.

Quick opening inspection door on screw housing bottom for cleaning of product bed below the screw inlet point.

Way of working

The scale operational phases are carried out as follows:

A. loading phase: the product is metered into the weigh bucket until the scale reaches the programmed target weight. The speed and precision with which target is achieved is determined by dynamic control of the scale weigh stages; high-speed bulk feed, high-accuracy dribble feed.

B. unloading phase: the feed system stops and the pneumatic shut off gate closes avoiding excess product from falling into the weigh bucket. The doors on the underside of weigh bucket open and let the product fall to the bagging system, and remain open until the bucket is empty. The doors then close, and a new weigh cycle is initiated.

Electronic weigh controller

TECHNIPES weigh scales feature the latest technology in advanced weigh control units. The new 400 Series electronic weigh controllers benefit from three decades of Technipes experience in controlled metering of dry products, delivering instant management of scale work parameters, and feature: 7” Color Touch Screen HMI measuring 155mm x 95mm and rated IP65 / NEMA 4 protection for the display of: function and status of the weigh scale, dual weight display (instantaneous and last weight performed) through the five digit display.

The user friendly 400 controller interface allows for:

  • setting of the weighing parameters (programming, calibration, product storage, etc…); setting of decimal places; name of product to be weighed;
  • name of product to be weighed;
  • initial bulk feed value;
  • minimum dribble feed time;
  • self monitoring of the product in flight with automatic adjustment compensating for density changes;
  • automatic optimisation of weigh cycle stages with automatic progression to the fastest weighing speed possible while maintaining the weighing accuracy to within set tolerance limits;
  • programmable tare frequency;
  • automatic management of the top and bottom weighing limits with automatic stop of the scale operation in case of the weight exceeding the set limits;
  • setting of the number of drafts to be performed;
  • setting of product target weight;
  • display of total bags and number of drafts within the weighing limits;
  • Total display of the weighs performed;
  • possibility of saving up to 99 different recipies;
  • possibility of interfacing with an external computer through MODBUS TCP/ IP protocol;
  • possibility to chart weight variation during the weighing cycle;
  • possibility of password protecting access to sensitive functions of the scale (Programming and Calibration);
  • possibility of copying stored recipes onto a USB flash drive for transferring onto another 400 weighing controller.

The 400 Series display may be set in English, Italian, French, Spanish, or German. The load cells utilized by TECHNIPES’ scales are by HBM (HOTTINGER) and class C3 (3000 divisions), manufactured in stainless steel with IP67 protection, approved and certified in compliance with the OIML/R61 international provisions. As an alternate to the 400 Series weigh controller, TECHNIPES can also install the TRIA300, Bran+Luebbe, or other weigh controllers on request.
